| This fine revolver has a screwless
frame with hidden base pin screw. The frame features a
unique combination of gold inlaid line and gold inlaid scroll work
borders. The hammer and front sight are engraved. The
cylinder has gold line work outlining frame and cylinder
flutes. Double gold barrel banks (front and rear), one
thick, one thin; ejector tube (one think, one thin); double
cylinder bands to match the barrel, outlined cylinder flutes,
outlined hammer and backstrap.
High relief gold Viking bust on the recoil
shield. Loading gate has the Minnesota State seal in high
relief gold inlay. Top of backstrap has Minnesota State
Capitol Building in high relief gold inlay.
Backstrap has "ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA" in
flush gold inlaid script. Butt has a Loon with baby on its
back in high relief gold inlay. Gold inlaid Moose on right
side of frame and Wolf on left side of frame.
Engravers signature (G. Spring and S. Kamyk) are
located on the front of the frame where the base pin is usually
located. Caliber marking on the bottom side of barrel next
to the engraved cylinder pin.
The patent dates are dropped and a high relief
gold inlaid wolf is on the left side within a fine background
engraving depicting a forest scene.
The right side of the frame features a high
relief gold inlaid moose within a fine background engraving
depicting a forest scene.
The top of the barrel address line 'COLT's
PT.F.A. MFG.CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." is flush gold
inlaid. Left side of the barrel has "LAND OF 10,000
LAKES" within a gold banner.
The grips are high relief carved ivory.
The left grip has a full eagle with talons extended in flight
coming down to perch with ruby eyes. Right grip has the
State of Minnesota and an outline of the Mississippi River carved
from the town of Itasca (where the Mississippi River originates)
to the Iowa border. A small ruby designates St. paul as the
State Capital.
